Domesticity ...

I'm becoming a gardener! I have a compost heap! And with a lot of help from a good friend I've ripped the guts out of the section and am starting anew.
Just had a heap of ponga logs delivered.

Yeah, yeah - they look like shit now but they're gonna go against the ugly corrugated iron fence outside the kitchen window. I'll put a water-drip feeder line along the top (pongas grow from the top) and soon we'll have ferny canopy thingy ... add a few epiphytes and we'll have a natural-looking bush land.

Actually, these pongas look rather scrappy ... but you get the idea.

Unfortunately the weather is absolutely shit so the ponga fence can wait ...

  2. I've never had a garden before and it's kinda fun - also means I get to landscape all sorts of private little areas ...

  3. You'll find it gets addictive. I've got about 1/2 acre of perennial gardens here. Love the physicality and the creativity of it. Put down 13 tons of gravel paths a few summers ago ... it felt great when eventually the wheelbarrow gave out but I hadn't!

Would have been better with you there standing close-by with a flogger to get me moving faster though. ;o)
